Email Campaign Specialist

The Email Campaign Specialist serves an important role as liaison between the Marketing team, campaign management resources and email service provider. The primary responsibility for this position is maintaining clear and detailed communication between all resources as well as facilitating build, test and launch of all email campaigns.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Translate business needs with respect to email marketing into Campaign Request Forms for email vendor, campaign management resource (third party vendor with campaign management tool tied to marketing database) and internal marketing teams
• Manage Campaign Request Form updates and communication to all resources
• Monitor and review campaign audience selection performing quality control to ensure output is accurate, complete and timely
• Monitor email campaign launches and support email service provider in error situations for faster recovery
• Through Campaign Request Form management, facilitate and monitor email campaign reporting
• Monitor and negotiate work activities with internal & external partners in order to coordinate timely and consistent delivery of email campaigns with focus on technical execution
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of email marketing programs or processes from in-depth knowledge of campaign management and email execution tools
• Serve as the internal email system and data subject matter expert
• Special projects as assigned

Job Requirements:
• 3 – 5 years experience in email marketing, preferably in a retail environment
• Solid knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS with emphasis on HTML/CSS coding for email specifically
• Solid knowledge of current standards and web development techniques (W3C standards)
• Solid knowledge of cross-browser and email environments (Firefox, IE, Netscape, AOL)
• Email deployment experience
• Experience writing SQL statements for data extraction preferred
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data structures and querying language
• Knowledge of Responsys platform a plus
• Prior experience with campaign management tools a plus (e.g. CampaignRunner, Unica, Aprimo, Alteryx, etc…)
• Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
• Superior project management skills
• Excellent team player with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the organization
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Ability to anticipate needs, innovate and flourish in a fast-paced retail environment
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and critical thinking skills
• BA or BS Degree required
