Electronic Production Artist

The role of an ELECTRONIC PRODUCTION ARTIST works with the Creative Services Manager to fulfill approved design work and complete production requirements. Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite CS6 (primarily InDesign and Illustrator)and pre-press skills are required.

The electronic production department is responsible for all print projects that are released to printers. The majority of this work is highly-detailed DM with many moving pieces to account for, including but not limited to multiple pricing versions, a mix of digital assets (licensed photography, vector maps and artwork) and heavy use of tables. These projects are highly repetitive but rarely the same. And eye for detail is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently and independently.

Responsibilities:
The main job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Produces all digital layout work based on print specifications and applicable brand guidelines.
• Makes all requested changes and corrections promptly and correctly.
• Reviews all work for errors and omissions before routing back to creative.
• Advises creative on best way to achieve desired results.
• Interface with third party production departments including: color houses, stock photography houses, publishers, and print vendors.
• Assist design team with presentation board and mockups when needed.
• Utilizes and maintains internal digital asset management system in addition to client DAMS.
• Prep final art files and release to third party vendors.
