Our client seeks an Educational Writer to start immediately and work at least through the end of 2016. This is a full-time and onsite position in Carlsbad.

This person will work on editing technical instructional content drafted by subject matter experts for manufacturing classes, including a six month program that teaches 3D CAD modeling skills. Each of the 68 modules in this program contains approximately 100 PowerPoint slides, with Course Objectives, a hyperlinked Table of Contents, embedded videos with step-by-step instructions, Key Points, and “Your Turn” demo instructions. The Educational Editor/Writer will transfer the storyboard content that was drafted by subject matter experts from MS Word into the PowerPoint template, then review/edit for consistency, grammar, etc. Attention to detail and QA is critical. This person will primarily be using MS PowerPoint, although proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop for basic image editing would also be helpful.

The Educational Writer provides documentation support to the Product Development Manager to create, update, and communicate educational products and procedures. The writer gathers, documents and communicates technical information for a variety of audiences and purposes. Develops quality materials for students, employees, and the industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Research and document department processes and procedures, including new procedure manual documentation, implementation, and updates.
• Interview Subject Matter Experts to gather technical information related to jewelry manufacturing educational content and departmental procedures.
• Analyze and organize technical content for optimal presentation to intended audience.
• Draft technical white papers, presentations, procedures, and instructional materials using company methods and techniques.
• Communicate effectively, get along with coworkers and management, and deal with others effectively and professionally under pressure.
• Other duties as assigned
