Editorial Assistant - Entertainment

Do you want to work for the fastest growing online and mobile organization today in their entertainment division? Our client, one of the largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organizations with a membership of more than 37 million has an immediate need for an Editorial Assistant to support their Entertainment Director/Celebrity Liaison on a number of fronts, both creative and administrative.

He/she will assist Entertainment Director/Celebrity Liaison in suggesting/curating and in some cases producing entertainment content for an array of publications, online, social and studios. He/she will assist Entertainment Director/Celebrity Liaison in updating and maintaining entertainment contacts and keeping them informed on Movies for Grownups activities, foundation activities that would relate to the entertainment community, and Magazine promotional events. He/she will assist Entertainment Director/Celebrity Liaison in wrangling and handling talent for publications, Movies for Grownups annual awards gala and annual film showcase, and other Magazine or Movies for Grownups promotional events. This may include booking transportation/travel for talent. He/she will provide administrative support to the Entertainment Director/Celebrity Liaison for the above tasks. Additionally, he/she shall provide support, as able and directed, to complete ad-hoc projects as they emerge among publications, online, social, studios, promotion and events.

• Excellent oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in Journalism or Communications or related field.
• Experience writing for a national magazine or website.
• Experience interacting with celebrities and publicists.
• Experience in project management and communications strategies.
• Knowledge of social media channels and strategies.
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, InCopy, and Wordpress.
• Proven critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Successful candidate will work with Entertainment Director/Celebrity Liaison at her home office in Los Angeles or in the field as needed for events and activities.
