This is along term contract that offers fantastic experience for a grammar and spelling fanatic. You will have the opportunity to work on a long term contract in an agency with a high profile client. You could be working next week!
You will:
• Check all content for grammar, punctuation, clarity, style, and flow
• Copy edit and proofread all marketing materials for AGENCY and clients, including ads, collateral, websites, fundraising letters, proposals, and more
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established guidelines and formats (i.e., AP Style, Chicago Manual, client-specific editorial guidelines, etc.)
• Review client content revisions for accuracy against design layout
• Direct content questions or concerns to Senior Writer/Editor and project or account managers
• Maintain CONSISTENT brand voice in all writing
• Collaborate with Senior Writer/Editor, project or account managers, designers, and web developers to complete high-quality projects on-time and under-budget
You might also:
• Write and/or edit materials for agency and clients including websites, advertisements, articles, blog posts, emails, letters, and more
• Write and/or edit proposals for client work and collaborate with other members of the team (including department directors and sales team) to gather necessary information
• Continuously brainstorm and suggest new ideas and marketing activities for the benefit of agency and their clients
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field such as journalism, English, writing,
public relations, and/or communications; OR bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or related field
Must pass copy edit/fact check test
Quick and accurate proofreading and grammar skills
Fine attention to detail and work with writers and designers to ensure that all copy is accurate and grammatically correct
Advanced knowledge of English grammar rules, plus Associated Press Style and Chicago Manual of Style guidelines
High-energy professional and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Ability to create, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with staff members and clients alike
Must be proactive, creative, and a relationship builder
Brownie Points for:
Knowledge of basic proofreading marks
Knowledge of digital marketing platforms such as WordPress or other CMS, HubSpot, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, MyEmma, etc. strongly preferred
Knowledge of Workamajig or other project management software strongly preferred
Knowledge of InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite strongly preferred
