E-Mail Marketing/Segmentation Specialist

Our innovative client is looking for a skilled email professional to manage the user data segmentation for all email campaigns. The role will be responsible for the flawless execution of customer segmentation implementation; developing SQL coding in segmenting customers; and optimizing email performance. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of industry best practices (ie. A/B testing strategies, user segmentation strategies, etc…); excellent SQL development skills; and great attention to detail. This role will also require additional email work around template development and optimization, and quality assurance.

Primary Job Responsibilities:


• Customer Segmentation implementations. Develop SQL coding in segmenting customers as designed;
• Collect requirements on user targeting selection criteria. Design document of campaign selection logics and process;
• Updated campaign design documents. Recommendations on campaign logic flows with business rules;
• Automate campaign selection process. Documentation of logics, flow and code;
• Review industry best practice such as A/B testing strategy, user segmentation strategy and logics. Documentation of campaign logics and summary of feedbacks;
• Collaborate with US teams to leverage segmentation logics;
• Validations on campaign results.


• Coordinate and execute emails to engage email subscribers and non-subscribers driving revenue and subscriber activation;
• Implement & understand conditional logic for assembling targeted, dynamic content;
• Design and execute A/B tests that support key hypotheses and deliver actionable learnings through statistical test measurement and post-experiment deep-dive; analysis that contribute to business growth;
• Regularly analyze and make recommendations on email campaign performance on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, always seeking ways to improve.


System knowledge:

• Strong hands-on SQL development skills.
• Experience in customer segmentation or data warehouse/ETL development
• Familiar with logical database design, data warehousing, experience with Teradata environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with Unica Affinium Campaign software is a plus
• Experience with Unix shell scripting is a plus.
• Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Must have a high attention to detail with the ability to produce flawless work in rapid succession, meeting & exceeding targets & deadlines.
• Full knowledge of HTML, CSS, Adobe photoshop

Education / Experience:

• Post-secondary education in computer science or related degree/diploma
• 3+ years working in digital marketing or related fields
