E-Commerce Web Producer

Our travel industry client is currently looking for a full-time web producer with e-commerce experience. This web producer will plan and implement website marketing needs with in-house teams and external vendors. Acts as main point of contact for web updates vendors and internal creative resources with respect to managing web site content, online materials, special projects and product merchandising.

Works closely with senior leadership to support ongoing promotional activity and tactical campaigns using targeted banner placements on homepage and other promotional pages.


• Manages interactive agency vendor’s content contribution activities.

• Creates and provides instructions on technical specifications needed to update particular areas of site.

• Establishes efficient processes that involve prioritization of content needs, periodic reviews of updated work and generation of feedback to ensure vendors are fulfilling content needs with highest quality and efficiency.

• Compiles and analyzes sales and web analytics reports to evaluate effectiveness of campaigns and modify future placement tactics as necessary.

• Assesses specific campaign promotional performance with changes to copy/messaging, price-point positioning and visual elements.

• Compares potential results between two different versions of a promotional campaign to enhance visibility to winning tactics.

• Maintains a master calendar of site promotional and event activities and ensures proper planning and communication with dependent areas to efficiently utilize online banner placements with clear focus on key messaging.

• Coordinates with brand/advertising and direct marketing to ensure agreement on key promotional themes and messages across all advertising touch-points.

• Secures development of any creative or program-specific language necessary for the execution of specific promotions.

• Plans timing of program elements such as pricing and inventory availability with Revenue Management, e-mail and display ad deliveries, etc., to ensure landing pages and banners are calibrated appropriately.

• Plans, establishes and implements all geo-targeting tactics, placements, optimization, and measurements.

• Reviews specific promotional offers on any given week and establishes target markets compared to specific ads in content management system; measures performance of each banner.

• Leverages optimization tools and testing processes in order to increase effectiveness of promotional landing pages.

• Evaluates testing processes ongoing and change regularly depending on customer habits and industry trends.

• Maintains best practice usability standards and ensures call-to-action priorities have brand and revenue focus with clear communication to customers.

• Organizes and leverages company’s web content management system and provides direction and guidance to internal and third party content contributors.


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Web Design or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and training.

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years experience in an e-commerce environment. Online industry or travel agency experience preferred. 2-3 years working with online promotional content.


• Sound knowledge of marketing fundamentals and solid decision-making skills sufficient to evaluate and decide on site content placement and product merchandising opportunities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to write clear and concise web content. Interpersonal and business skills to interact with all levels of team members effectively.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word and Outlook.

• Familiarity with content management systems.

• Highly detailed oriented with organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to shift priorities according to business needs.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Ability to handle multiple assignments under great pressure and with little margin of error.

• Strong working knowledge of leading Internet technologies, development applications, and supportive protocols, including: HTML, XML, FLASH, SSL, Web Services, AJAX, RSS.

• Superior Knowledge of Project Management Tools and Software: MS Visio, MS Project. Deep understanding of web design principles and usability practices.

• Strong knowledge of database principles and data warehouse mining. Fundamental grasp of web analytics and financial analysis capability.
