Director of User Experience

Aquent is partnering with a leading Financial Services company in Downtown Los Angeles in their search for a visionary Director of User Experience who can help lead the team that is transforming their online presence. This will be a 3-month temp-to-hire position.

Working under the Creative Director, you will be tasked with re-defining the financial industry by creating new and innovative user experiences. You will consult with internal clients to propose front-end architectural solutions and create strategies that meet both user and business needs. Leading a team of UX Designers and Researchers, you will ensure that projects meet the requirements of the client, and are completed on time and within budget. You will draw upon your experience leading persona development, navigation systems, user stories, clickable prototypes, sitemaps, and wireframes to communicate solutions to designers, developers, and senior managers.

Responsibilities:
• Drive strategic vision to design efforts that focus on delivering delightful user experiences; create a link between the work of the team and the mission and values of the organization.
• Collaborate with key product stakeholders to understand and support business goals for existing and new products.
• Work cross-functionally, and with product managers and senior management to align the product development strategy with customer needs.
• Translate market requirements, user needs, and input from cross-functional teams into design solutions.
• Communicate a clear vision of best-in-class designs.
• Manage all aspects of UX design delivery.
• Manage a team of user experience professionals.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, human factors or equivalent; Masters preferred.
• 7+ years in UX design.
• Passion for great products, and a desire to delight customers.
• Ability to work in a fast paced exciting environment.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adeptly demonstrate products.
• Knowledge of user experience best practices.
• Ability to interact with co-workers at all levels of the company.
• Strong and focused team player and a consensus builder
• Successful track record of leading teams in deployment of user-accepted software products.
• Strategic thinking applied to design innovative solutions to challenging problems.
• Hands-on experience in information architecture, use-case development, mock-ups, and highly interactive prototypes.
• Experience coaching and mentoring others in UX design.
• Travel will be required.
