Director of UX / Lead UX Manager

Our client, a financial investing firm, is looking for a new Director of User Experience to replace their current director who will leave over the next few months. The ideal candidate will have an intuitive feeling for how products should work and a holistic vision to see how multiple features and devices will interact to create a seamless customer experience. This person can also focus on both the customer and the business, creating experiences that meet customer needs and have measurable impact on business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Define, coordinate, and deploy cross-channel architecture across numerous touch points, including desktop, mobile (apps & browser), and tablets
• Define responsive design strategy for a complex web based application
• Recruit and develop a team including visual, interaction, and customer research professionals
• Oversee creation of a library of UX patterns and templates that can be re-used in multiple scenarios
• Create best practices and processes for the design team as the company grows
• Create and track design schedules that map to product and engineering schedules
• Be passionate about collecting and analyzing customer data using both qualitative and quantitative methods to enable teams to make best design decisions possible
• Leverage external research and trends for potential opportunities to consider or implement
• Work with marketing and sales teams to develop useful personas with meaningful data
• Help deliver business outcomes through improving the customer experience measured by adoption, growth, revenue, & retention
• Be a great translator; Connect the business strategies to UX activities and vice-versa
• Be able to explain and frame the right problems; Help cross-functional teams break down and see the problems in the right way to yield interesting results
• Collaborate with product and development managers to deliver solutions in an environment where each is responsible for defining overarching strategies for their function

REQUIREMENTS:
• Relentless focus on customer needs and business goals
• 8+ years web and interactive design experience, preferably with large-scale data driven systems
• Expert at managing team of interaction, visual, and customer research professionals
• Expert at scoping & managing design projects that align with product & engineering schedules
• Expert in all methods of delivering prototypes and Interaction specs
• Expert in user research methods
• Creative thinker, able to see multiple solutions to UX problems and communicate advantages/disadvantages of each solution
• Experience collecting and interpreting data from systems such as Omniture, Google Analytics, or others
• Experience defining and deploying consistent product experience across multiple devices and platforms
• Thorough but concise communicator, detail oriented
