Director of Marketing and Content

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity working with a faith-based organization providing new media educational content and opportunities for children and their families Through your efforts, you will inspire children and parents and encourage their own creativity in making the world a better place.


You will work with teams of marketers, creatives, thinkers, analysts, product managers, technologists and designers to tell great stories through digital media and marketing.

In this position you will:

- Lead marketing efforts with a specific focus on digital marketing and online customer/subscriber acquisition.

- Direct, plan and oversee marketing strategies and their execution in support of key digital brands

- Maintain an awareness and understanding of trends in digital marketing and an understanding of how to leverage online advertising platforms and communities (e.g. Facebook, YouTube, Amazon, etc.) to help grow business

- Oversee marketing staff, business planning, and staff & advertising budget development.

- Act as a subject matter expert on issues relating to effective marketing.

- Work in partnership with the content development team to develop unique and engaging experiences to acquire customers and subscribers.

- Serve as a partner to content development team to develop and effectively communicate our brands.


You should have:

- A track record of achievement in marketing strategy, content marketing, digital marketing and brand development.

- Intimate understanding of digital marketing best practices across various online marketing channels, e.g. e-mail, affiliate marketing, paid search, SEO, Facebook
advertising, etc.

- A strong background in content management and strategy, in the digital/new media space

- Experience with conversion rate optimization, landing page design and e-commerce best practices.

- Experience with web-based product planning and development.

- A love of learning and proven desire to be world class at marketing.

- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.

- Strong business and analytical skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an outgoing and upbeat “people person” attitude

- A highly driven and proactive attitude

- An acceptance of a faith-based organization
