Company seeks Director of Marketing Communications who oversees and directs the planning and development of strategic internal and external communications. The Director of Marketing Communications manages company identities and utilizes marketing best practices to inform design and copy. This is technically a temporary role, with the potential to become a contract-to-hire role.

The Director of Marketing Communications will be responsible for the management of the creation and development of communications through a variety of mediums: direct mail, multimedia, website, web communications and advertising. This person may also oversee media and public relations initiatives for the company.

Management and Operations:
Oversees the recruitment, selection, supervision, organizational structure, training and development of communications staff and the recruitment, selection and negotiation with outside vendors, contractors, creative services and account representatives. Establishes a culture of customer service and collaboration within the department.

Marketing:
Works VP of Marketing and other managers to plan, initiate and implement products and activities of the company. Sets and achieves professional development goals; stays abreast of trends and state-of-the-art approaches to communications.

Budget Management/Procurement:
Manages Communications budget; oversees expenditures, oversees agreements with vendors and acts to reduce or contain costs. Develops and adheres to a procurement policy for vendor activities. Monitors and establishes departmental production, record keeping and reporting procedures needed for efficiency and effectiveness.
