Director of Market and Client Experience Research

Our Fortune 1000 client in Stamford, CT is seeking a Director of Market and Client Experience Research. The Director will play a leadership role in planning and implementing global strategic research studies and overseeing global client experience research programs. This individual must lead internal market research and client satisfaction teams, collaborate with outside research agencies and coordinate resources in a collaborative matrixed organization. The Director manages over $2 million in vended research, as well as, an internal client satisfaction research program. This individual must ensure that best in class research practices are adhered to, state-of-the-art methodologies and analytic tools are used, and actionable insights and recommendations are provided.

This position requires a leader who is adept at managing global projects and has an understanding of geographic market nuances. This individual should have expertise and extensive hands-on experience in all qualitative and quantitative methodologies, client satisfaction techniques and look for new methods to add value to the research function. Managing and merging inter disciplinary market intelligence capabilities, including data analytics, secondary research and competitive intelligence, is a key skill needed to present holistic solutions. The Director needs to demonstrate pragmatic thinking and solid judgment while providing clients with consultative planning, options and recommended solutions. The Director must also ensure that an accurate historical archive of research projects is actively shared throughout the company.

Qualifications:
• 6+ years’ experience in the planning, development/design, execution, analysis, interpretation and reporting of advertising, marketing and client satisfaction research across all research methodologies
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Business or related field - Master's Degree preferred
• Extensive experience in B2B advertising, market and client satisfaction research with particular focus on digital technology sectors and business services
• Knowledge of online survey research tools, data collection procedures and best practices in fielding and analyzing survey data as well as Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience in working with data analytics teams to determine appropriate data file criteria for primary research as well as back-end advanced analytical options
• Strong ability to globally scale primary research, including working knowledge of CASRO and ESOMAR country codes, government regulations and cultural preferences
• The ability to translate actionable data into stories and action plans appropriate to a variety of internal stakeholders
• Extensive experience in managing internal teams and outside research vendors and partnering with external advertising and digital agencies

Responsibilities include:
• Developing, writing and presenting articulate requests for proposals, research briefs and reports
• Designing research instruments/programs and creating project plans
• Ongoing refinement of approaches to conducting market research and innovation intelligence
• Determining appropriate analytical method(s) to meet project deliverables (conjoint, predictive modeling, regression, etc.)
• Translating research findings into actionable narratives, applicable to multiple internal stakeholder audiences and business units
• Interpreting research findings for use in constructing strategic solutions to enhance client experience and optimizing opportunities for growth
• Engaging with and presenting key research findings to internal clients, including senior management
• Managing staff productively and fairly at all levels, cascading senior management goals, expectations, client policy and procedure
• Training junior levels ensuring constant coverage of research functions; engaging, communicating with, and motivating team members
• Mentoring team members on career development goals
• Maintaining financial accountability for the Market and Client Satisfaction Research group
• Building solid relationships with stakeholders/clients, agency partners and research suppliers
