Director of Market Research and Analytics

The Director of Market Research and Analytics will help build a market research and analytics department to manage the enterprise requirements for our client. You develop the data set, tools and analyses needed to address critical strategic issues for the business such as portfolio management, new product/market development, and R&D strategy. Our mission is to build an expertise on market, customer and consumer behavior over time and to turn data and analytics into a competitive advantage.

Our goals for the next year are to:
• Drive the annual strategic and business planning process
• Develop tools for tracking business and market performance (dashboard, reports)
• Develop market models for major R&D programs as well as marketed products/services
• Support Global Businesses and Regions in developing/testing new product/market strategies
• Create an automated, seamless platform for sharing and interacting with business intelligence and related tools
• Champion a market oriented, data driven approach to decision making

• Analytical and fact based, eager to challenge conventional wisdom through strength of data
• Curious about market, competitive, customer insights
• Able to present data in a structured and insightful manner
• Affinity for process innovation – automating routine processes (data collection, analysis) while interested in implementing new, differentiated tools for visualizing and interacting with the data
• Expertise with market research methodology, sources
• Strong handle on modeling and analytical tools, competence to progress this capability further
• Excited to work in an entrepreneurial (ambiguous, complex) environment, eager to take initiative
• Comfortable getting into the details early on, but equally excited to take on more broader role as team and scope of this initiative expands

Qualifications
• BA/BS required, MBA preferred. Degree in engineering or other analytical disciplines is a plus
• Background in healthcare and/or consumer products industry useful
• Individuals with former business analysis experience such as consulting, investment banking, equity research and individuals with strong data/analysis experience should find this role exciting because of both the far reaching impact and the work involved
• Prior experience in marketing analytics, business/market intelligence functions is a huge plus
