Looking for a strategic Leader to join the ranks of a team of 5-7 folks at one of the best Agencies in the Chicagoland Area. They are located in the Northern Suburbs right off of the metra (literally walking distance!). This is a unique creative role that blends duties of the Creative Director, focused in the UX and Digital Space. This role is Contract to Hire and includes a competitive salary and casual work environment.

Job Description
We're looking for a highly creative, exceptionally talented individual to help lead our growing interactive team. As Director of Digital Experience, you’ll provide creative direction and manage a team in the ongoing development of some of the nation’s biggest retailer websites.

Your personality should exude confidence, charisma, and commitment—all while ready to take constructive (and sometimes not-so-constructive) criticism. You should be experienced in managing a creative staff, directing and critiquing the work of team members, as well as presenting creative concepts and rationale to high-level corporate clients.


• Conceptualize, develop and lead a “best in class” creative product for the web
• Support the creative and UX leads with ongoing projects and day-to-day deliverables
• Mentor team members, passing on ideas and know-how
• Collaborate with account directors to understand business objectives and client expectations, translating requirements into elegant, user-friendly results
• Monitor and promote emerging trends in interactive technologies, content, design and marketing tactics
• Clearly communicate ideas and rationale the creative team as well as clients
• Collaborate with developers to deliver polished, pixel-perfect final products
• Bring a fun, creative energy to work every day

Desired Skills & Experience
Must Haves

• An extensive portfolio and URL links to samples of work
• 6–10 years of art/creative direction experience with a proven track record. Agency experience is a big plus.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline: Information Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Communications or Marketing
• Proven conceptual skills, a critical eye for detail and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear visual representations
• Experience building online shopping experiences, consumer brands and dynamic websites or web applications
• Thorough understanding of information architecture, usability and user-centered design methods with experience building wireframes, prototypes and information visualizations
• Knowledge of web related marketing tactics (direct marketing, online advertising, SEO/SEM, etc.)
• Ability to identify and manage conflict well, and facilitate resolution among all parties
• Willingness to take risks and manage them intelligently
• Excellent analytical and process-oriented skills
• Ability to produce results independently as well as collaboratively
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Ability to solve creative problems using keen strategic and organizational experience
• Ability to gracefully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
• Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Experience with dialogue marketing
• Experience in social and/or mobile app design
• Familiarity with platforms like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, etc.
• Familiarity with wireframing/prototyping software
