Director of Creative Services - Contract to Hire

This is a fantastic opportunity to be strategically involved with a non-profit organization that understands great design.

In this newly created role you will be responsible for directing all phases of the creative process for internal and
external communications, as well as establishing design direction and guidelines.

This position requires you to contribute not only to strategy, but to execution of campaigns as well, so it is very hands on. You will also
be a leader making strong contributions to projects every day.
You will be expected to create an environment that fosters creativity and great design from the team.

You will lead a team of designers, external vendors and other creatives as part of the Marketing umbrella, acting as an internal agency to multiple departments within the organization.



You will:
• Develop and deliver thought leadership and creative solutions
• Represent the creative team and its work to others.
• Ensure that the strategic direction of projects is in line with objectives and business plans.
• Analyze, create, and produce high quality and business relevant marketing communications and creative treatments for
internal and external customers
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure optimal brand standards are maintained and innovative creative solutions
are successfully delivered on time and on budget.
• Inspire and guide a team of designers and writers to creative excellence as both a mentor and a contributor
• Interact effectively with all levels of management and staff
• Understand business context and goals for creative efforts
• Direct and execute online graphic design projects such as site merchandising, newsletters and promotions, and offline
projects such as supplier information and much more
• Collaborate across departments and business lines to ensure consistency across channels
• Provide departmental leadership to ensure an environment of cooperation and trust.

You should have:

• 5+ years experience as part of and leading a creative team
• B.A..Degree in related field or the equivalent in experience
• Proven ability to identify, hire, and retain top talent, both internal staff and external contractors
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely and a willingness to share ideas with
individuals at all levels
• Exceptional copywriting skills
• Strong problem solving skills, ability to understand and identify key strategic issues, and develop creative design solutions
to assignments
• Experience enforcing branding/identity style guide
• Thorough familiarity with latest Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Working knowledge of Adobe Flash, Actionscript, HTML, DHTML, third party ad serving technologies such as
DoubleClick and printing techniques
• Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Experience managing/leading design teams throughout a project lifecycle.
•Experience with project management software
•Expertise with both Windows and Mac platforms.
•Experience and high comfort level with the development of interactive and print campaigns; experience with online media a plus
