Develop overall marketing strategy for including but not limited to positioning, messaging, advertising, public relations, events, promotions, online marketing, social media and non-traditional marketing to create awareness and drive sales for category. Build a continuity plan that begins with launch and takes the brand through each year of its life cycle. Oversee and manage one employee. Work closely with the marketing brand manager, the brand, merchandising, store design, online marketing, creative and retail marketing team on communication and execution of all aspects of the plan. Act as the key marketing contact for all brands, the marketing counterpart to all cross functional departments, merchants, education brand managers. Develop strategies to drive the overall business via special marketing promotions. Serve as the San Francisco based marketing lead for at least one additional marketing output.

Responsible for marketing key brands by partnering with merchants to create and execute unique plans including but not limited to advertising, public relations, events, promotions, online marketing, social media and non-traditional marketing that drive awareness and sales
Ensure all major merchandising initiatives are properly supported by existing marketing initiatives (i.e. catalog, animation, events, etc).
Partner with marketing team to identify and create unique marketing programs that can be implemented for an individual brand or across multiple brands.
Partner with external agencies (PR, media planning, etc.) and internal marketing directors to execute all programs
Track and communicate all updates and ROI reporting to brands and merchants.
Effectively communicate all marketing initiatives to cross-functional teams.
Understand all company initiatives and objectives and ensure all marketing plans reflect and incorporate where possible
Oversee Brand Manager(s) who will support in execution of brand plans
Desired Skills & Experience
Minimum eight years of marketing experience in brand building
Experience bringing new product to market, as well as marketing with existing products/brands
Beauty experience a plus
Retail experience a plus
Classic marketing training a plus
Strong digital, social media and non-traditional marketing background
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership qualities
Exceptional project management experience
Ability to travel frequently (approx 5/year)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and juggling many details at once
Proven ability to build relationships and partnerships and work effectively in team environment
University degree and/or equivalent experience required
Graduate degree a plus
