Director, On Air Promotions Operations

Our client a world leader in media and entertainment companies is looking for a Director of On-Air Promotions Operations! In this role you will be responsible for developing operating policies and processes, fostering teamwork, overseeing IT and equipment services, evaluating and allocating resources and helping to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to short and long-term organizational and operational planning and strategy
  • Working with department heads and the internal management team to help develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures, Service Level Agreements, and processes
  • Creating departmental goals and objectives and analyze areas requiring improvement
  • Applying research and progressive workflow into daily operations
  • Maintaining quality control of all promotions
  • Developing, negotiating, contracting and managing key vendor relationships to gain cost efficiencies while maximizing benefit; researching and recommending equipment
    and software purchasing
  • Anticipating, reacting to, and resolving technical and operational issues with urgency and passion; working with staff to ensure they have the proper equipment, and that it is in good working order
  • Resolving all facility, equipment, media and broadcast scheduling issues
  • Working cohesively with finance and SVP On-Air promotions to develop the budget to support the strategic business goals and to help manage operations to meet the budgetary goals
  • Providing guidance with all on-air tapings. Analyze third party production budgets, equipment and post production processes
  • Providing professional communication to senior management, program producers, studio control rooms and affiliate representatives
  • Recording and communicating all changes and discrepancies to the on air schedule including live programming, breaking news and on-air defects
  • Adjusting manpower assignments and hours based on operational demands and changes; Manage scheduling and monitor overtime for staff
  • Managing projects across On-Air Promotions
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees related to post production; working with department heads to manage and secure editing & operations freelancers (including interns)
