Director, Interactive Design

Aquent's client is seeking a Director of Interactive Design for a direct hire opportunity in New York!  This position requires the ability to solve both retail and marketing challenges through fresh creative ideas that supports the brand direction, and generate a top-of-mind perspective with the consumer. Responsible for the digital calendar for respective categories, tracking/communicating progress, ensuring timeliness on budget execution of cross-functional deliverables while supporting Design and delivering a brand right execution. This position will oversee the estimate and budget of all digital projects, build and maintain internal relationships and ensure consistency and best in class design and delivery of projects. Perform other duties as assigned. 

Responsibilities: 
Ensure timely and quality delivery of digital projects.
Partner with Design Peers to identify opportunities for process improvement, and then lead those process/re-design initiatives.
Collaborate with Creative, Marketing and Corporate teams.
Participate in monthly financial forecasting process to proactively manage financial targets.
Scope and maintain budgets & resources on complex and multi-faceted technology projects, from requirements gathering to launch.
Lead the creative development of mock-ups and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and visual design ideas.
Communicate creative ideas, understand creative objectives and technical scope of projects.
Manage staffed/freelance digital designers, third party vendors and hire team resources as needed.
Provides performance feedback to team to establish and achieve career goals; determine, select and approve training to accomplish personal and professional growth.
Establish scalable production and asset management processes.
Reinforce a sense of accountability and responsibility for delivering highest quality and value technology solutions.
Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree 
5 - 10 years professional experience at least 2-3 year in a lead technical role or management.
Experience in matching internet technologies to business needs.
Established track record for accurately scoping, maintaining budget and resources on complex and multiple technology projects.

Communication Skills:
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to take/provide creative direction and work independently and proactively.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
Strong attention to detail.
 

Additional Skills:
Photoshop pro – digital imaging, able to create rapid design comps that incorporate strong brand presence and convey solid UI structure.
Exceptional layout & design skills – solid understanding of type & imagery and color composition, able to create a distinct visual hierarchy of UI elements.
Able to juggle multiple projects - Can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize time and communicate timeline to team members.
