Director, Digital Marketing

We are hiring a Director of Digital Marketing for a temporary contract position (up to 6 months).

The Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for providing management, development, and execution of all retention marketing programs including email, social, search, re-marketing, CRM strategy and loyalty infrastructure and activities for the client's brand for a period of one year.

Role requires close cross-functional collaboration with business partners working in Creative, Social Media, Acquisition Marketing, and Channel Merchandising to create a strong, cohesive, seamless brand experience.


➢ Recommending innovative and effective digital marketing and media strategies; calls for nimble, ongoing refinement of these strategies to maximize our digital opportunities and minimize our risks in the market.

➢ Manage a team of 5 that creates and executes innovative, effective marketing strategies and tactics that maximize impact of and synchrony of retention marketing according to marketing team objectives. Stays on leading edge of digital technologies to enable constant testing and learning.

➢ Recommend digital marketing with the goals of retaining customers and increasing share of wallet with those customers, using frequent analysis of KPIs to enhance awareness, consideration, trial, conversion, and ongoing advocacy. Provides strong cross-functional partnership and recommendation on how web environments can and should help amplify our campaigns.

➢ Manage, and execute a rolling twelve-month ongoing digital (display, email, SEM) conversation calendar that ladders back up to global category priorities and works closely with the rest of the department on innovative creative, copy, and promotions to grow customer engagement online.

➢ Executes on customer loyalty strategies and tactics on an ongoing basis to consistently increase program participation and engagement and maximize customer lifetime value.

➢ Works closely with Boutique/Web merchants to share customer knowledge, execute loyalty events, promotions, and giveaways, and help deliver against channel sales goals.

➢ Oversees ongoing development and refinement of a loyalty content, communications, and promotions calendar, up to one year out, which effectively supports brand and product marketing objectives.

➢ Aggregates and mines customer profiles, preferences, and purchases across all available databases to improve targeting and segmentation of our customer base and drive desired customer behavior with our marketing campaigns.

➢ Continues to execute on the rollout of CRM strategies including the implementation of the Customer Data warehouse and provides input on CRM tool choice.

➢ Manage the digital marketing budget (month and annual) in timely fashion; proposes real-time optimization of digital go-to-market investments (display, email, SEM, mobile) to achieve marketing team objectives, enhance ROI delivery, and minimize risk.

➢ Oversees the development of the Digital Marketing KPI Dashboard to present a weekly snapshot on digital marketing activity effectiveness.


➢ Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred.

➢ Ten-twelve years of experience developing and executing results-oriented digital marketing programs.

➢ Minimum of ten years’ experience working in retail, fashion, or beauty / consumer packaged goods.

➢ Proven leadership skills with a talent for clearly communicating strategy and vision and inspiring cross functional commitment and belief.

➢ Can fluently translate business objectives, digital marketing goals, and online customer insights into impactful, innovative brand-appropriate digital solutions.

➢ Deep understanding of and familiarity with digital (display, email, SEM, SEO) and social marketing, its uses and implications, and its next-generation potential in brand and product marketing.

➢ Experience with loyalty programs.

➢ Solution-oriented; takes consistent initiative and resourcefulness when it comes to resolving problems and going after new, valuable opportunities.

➢ Excellent written and verbal skills, knowing when and how to adjust tone and message to appropriate audiences.

➢ Effective partner management, negotiation, and operational skills with strong results orientation and efficiency mentality.

➢ Exceptional financial acumen required, including expertise and experience managing multimillion $budgets.

➢ Ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver multiple products or services concurrently under time constraints. Knows when to do vs. delegate.

➢ Nimble, adaptable, can go with the flow.
