Director, Channel Enablement

We are currently seeking a Director, Channel Enablement to work in the Marketing Strategy, Insights and Operations teams. The Director is responsible for ensuring consistency and a cohesive view across all marketing planning, product marketing and channel enablement management activities. Our client is open to candidates being "home based" out of Stamford, Danbury or their Shelton locations.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate the channel enablement teams and create templates and best practices.
• Manage a team of people to work with Product Marketing to refine messaging, in order to create and execute all educational and sales deliverables to enable all appropriate sales channels (e.g. Field Sales, Inside Sales, Web, business partners, etc.). With Product Marketing, consistently implement branding, core messaging and value props across all assets.
• Determine the best technology/methodology to communicate enablement materials/tools with all channels.
• Coordinate with all Marketing and Communications disciplines to drive communication of all campaigns, materials, events, etc. to all channels (1st line manager quarterly and monthly calls, Inside Sales calls, etc.). Coordinate with Communications, such as newsletters directed to the Sales teams.
• Leverage the Sales channels’ knowledge of programs and marketing and sales methods to ensure there is optimum alignment between marketing, channel sales, and Sales Operations teams and that we create the right materials and tools.
• Additionally, the position will interface with the corporate strategy, business unit strategy, product marketing, IMC, digital marketing, market intelligence, analyst relations and marketing operations teams.
• Work with the content localization and translation requests for content created by Product Marketing/Channel Enablement.
• Work with the Creative Services team to ensure a smooth process to create materials and tools.

The position is both strategic and highly tactical in nature and requires interpretation of strategy, offerings, and programs into effective marketing execution content and materials for the channel/sales execution teams. Focus is on the channels to help them quickly and accurately get information to their customers to improve the awareness, consideration, and preference for our client's products.


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. 10-15 years progressive marketing and communications experience with 3-5 years specific to strategic planning and 7+ years of software product marketing, sales and channel enablement experience.
• Ability to work successfully in a matrix environment, building alliances across functions and geographies
• Understanding of key marketing programs required and related funding necessary
• Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams (market intelligence, product marketing, IMC and product management, creative services)
• Strong leadership, team-based skills
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Strong prioritization skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in order to meet goals within plan
• Market-focused and results-oriented
• Knowledge of PBI products, solutions or industry, or related experience
• Proven track record in successful product marketing communications centered around client needs and solutions (samples requested)
• Ability to definitively differentiate our solutions from competitors based on “market-in” information and competitive perceptions
• Ability to drive alignment in the way we position our solutions in the market through sales, partner and marketing channels

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience developing portfolio reviews for product lines to share with critical business partners across multiple disciplines
