Aquent is the world's largest and most prestigious staffing firm specializing in the creative and marketing fields. Our client is one of the country's largest banking and financial lending companies. It is recognized regularly as one of Wilmington's best companies to work for. You will be apart of the company's in-house full-service ad agency. The agency services all internal departments needing marketing solutions from print ad, direct mail, video, etc.

This is an 18 month contract position and there is no chance of it becoming a permanent position.

Direct Marketing Copywriter - Banking & Financial Services

Exceptional copywriter with proven B2B financial experience. Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling advertising and persuasive long-form writing. A creative thinker who brings concepts to life through integrated digital and print campaigns. Collaborative teammate who actively listens and contributes to outstanding work that sets our clients apart in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Write copy for broad range of digital and print creative targeting executives of large and mid-sized businesses and institutions.

• Set direction for client discussions and secure critical information, including clear understanding of objectives, audience, strategies, messages and deliverables.

• Collaborate across design, account, production, traffic and management functions to produce winning strategies, concepts and execution.

• Deliver compelling client presentations, solicit feedback and adapt creative approach to meet client goals.



Requirements:
• Minimum five years of B2B financial copywriting experience with a focus on corporate, commercial and/or investment banking.

• Outstanding writing skills and creative instincts.

• Journalistic approach to interviewing subject matter experts and translating complex product/service information into clear and compelling copy.

• Deep knowledge of writing best practices, including optimizing copy for digital and web.

Direct Marketing copy specialist with experience and verifiable success writing specifically for direct marketing efforts. Experience writing all forms of DM media and channels including print, online, email etc. Write, proofread and edit in a highly collaborative environment working with account executives, art directors, designers, and production managers. Execute copywriting tasks from initial concept to final release. Experience writing for the banking and financial services industries is desired, but will consider candidates with experience in other similarly regulated environments.



Responsibilities:

• Work closely with account teams to secure a clear understanding of the objective and demographics of the campaign to ensure copy is targeted to appropriate audience.

• Collaborate with senior management to facilitate and direct the development of new creative strategies and goals, delivering measurable long/short term results. Develop techniques to reach new customers and enable the company to maintain the competitive edge.

• Collaborate with art director to produce the most compelling combination of images, design and language.

• Write and evaluate copy, recommend changes and approve as final.

• Set direction for client meetings and secure critical information.

• Sell concepts, strategies and direction to senior management.

• Take a concept or theme and develop copy that will achieve business goals.

• Participate in review of jobs at all stages.


• Minimum of Four to five years of advertising copywriting experience.

• Documented portfolio and record of achievement in writing for direct mail and direct marketing efforts.

• Strong knowledge of general advertising practices.

• Exceptional written communication skills.

• Strong strategic skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Word or equivalent.

• Working knowledge of design software (QuarkXPress, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint), and working knowledge of Excel

• Familiarity with Filemaker is helpful
