Digital/UX Copywriter (*financial industry experience req'd)

The User Experience team for our Fortune 500 Financial company seeks an experienced editorial designer (UX writer/editor) to create content for web and mobile platforms. Candidates should demonstrate experience writing for financial services firms as well as proficiency in user-centered design and best practices in web content. Attention to detail and brand awareness are required as well as a strong understanding of managing business and customer needs.

The writer/editor will be a member of the UX design team, which includes interaction designers and visual designers, and will collaborate with business, marketing and technology stakeholders to create an effective user experience for the customer facing websites for several brands. He/she should be able to write original copy or edit content originating from multiple sources to ensure consistency with internal standards and guidelines. Candidates should be able to present the overall editorial work and concepts to a broader audience based on a demonstrated knowledge of financial products and services. The right candidate must be able to balance working on various projects and possess an ability to think critically and strategically about the overall user experience.

Requirements include:
• Five plus years of editorial design, writing or editing experience for investment products
• Demonstrated financial services/investing/brokerage experience
• Digital editorial skills
• Self starter with demonstrated ability to multitask across multiple complex projects and editorial tracks
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management within the organization
• Strong process management skills; dedication to detail and deadlines; ability to present creative concepts
• Motivation for continuous improvement and ability to lead and motivate others in a project team environment
• Resilience and flexibility under pressure
• Experience working with interaction designers, visual designers and usability engineers, and an understanding of other team members’ deliverables and processes within a user-centered design model
• Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving and issue-resolution skills
• Detailed knowledge of word processing tools. Familiarity with design and development tools also preferred.
• Degree in English, Web Design or related field or a degree in Business, Economics or similar with strong writing experience
