The primary function of the Visual Designer will be to decide and implement how the website and other digital assets will look and work within the pre-defined templates.  This role will be familiar with industry standard web style guidelines working within those parameters and making recommendations as a subject matter expert.  Web design and production works with the graphic design team but also has expertise in Adobe Photoshop, 3D graphics, animation, responsive design and other software or applications used for web design and production.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Responsible for design elements and successful graphic production of the external web sites and mobile applications

  • Evaluates competitors’ and industry web sites to leverage evolving web designs and adapts or adopts new techniques to meet the needs of the business and improve usability

  • Presents user trends, develops strategies and proposals to educate and ensure implementation of new design features that provide a good user experience for prospects, customers and agents.

  • Designs website content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designing or procuring images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, InfoGraphics, animation etc.

  • Support the design of user-based apps on an as-needed basis

  • Maintains site appearance by thoroughly understanding design guidelines, developing and enforcing design and production standards, and editing submissions to exemplify the AAC brands

  • Designs virtual assets for web properties

  • Works with agencies on development of interactive tools for Ricoh’s external web properties

  • Initiates pull campaigns on external web properties to drive site traffic

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Digital Content Skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Acrobat, Visio, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong Design Skills including Web Graphic Design, Web Savvy, Planning, Web User Interface Design, Web Programming Skills, Teamwork, Illustration Tools, Multimedia Content Development, Understanding Browser Capabilities, Verbal Communication

  • Possesses project management skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and cross functionally (in a pod structure).

  • Action oriented and able to work independently.

  • Demonstrates creativity, curiosity and is innovative; receptive to discussing and open to trying new and different ideas / approaches to do the job / work. 

  • Customer centric; dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive for results by meeting objectives and goals successfully; steadfastly push self and others for results.

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of marketing principles including Products, Pricing, Promotion, and Positioning.

  • Possesses organizational agility; knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal network.


  • Minimum of 5 years web design and production experience

  • BA in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Business, Computer Science or related field

  • 3-5 years experience managing design and production for high traffic website
