Digital Visual Designer

One of our Fortune 500 clients and Big Four Consulting firms is looking for a Rock Star Digital Designer who will work with the Design team and also collaborate with the Publishing team to create and maintain outstanding digital communications and products for web, rich media and social media. This is a hands-on role, responsibilities include: developing design solutions from high-level ideas to detailed graphical layouts and user interfaces to support the firm’s ongoing digital publishing programs.

The individual will work with Editors to create and communicate concepts using data visualization and visual storytelling techniques and technologies. Working with internal clients and external vendors/freelancers s/he will develop high-impact visual solutions that are on brand.
Reporting to the Design Director, the Digital Designer is part of the Publishing Design team. Together we ensure that communications and publications are best in class for readers/users and meet the needs of internal stakeholders. As such, the Digital Designer will have the stature and communication skills to assert themselves as an authoritative voice within the broader team.

Responsibilities
■ Work with content owners to source, create and develop digital communications that match the high standards of our Editorial content and are engaging for our internal clients and end users alike
■ Provide thought leadership and hands-on execution across a diverse range of design and communication challenges including data visualization, information graphics and user interfaces for interactive presentations
■ Create engaging digital experiences while upholding the highest standards of usability across digital channels
■ Communicate effectively with stakeholders from across the organization to bring technical expertise to projects, answer questions and troubleshoot problems
■ Support colleagues in production/developer roles with design documentation, graphical assets and appropriate guidance
■ Go beyond the basic brief to design beautiful and inspiring digital communications that are on brand

Required Skills and Experience
■ Strong sense of design, layout and usability
■ Experience visually presenting data, high level of comfort communicating effectively using graphs and charts
■ Detailed understanding of digital communications and experience working with developers to implement designs
■ Experience working within a large, global brand system
■ Able to take ownership of, prioritize, and manage multiple work streams with minimal supervision
■ Able to specify and initiate change to improve processes and products
■ Excellent written and oral communication skills
■ Highly efficient, organized, meticulous attention to detail
■ Formal Graphic Design qualification


Required Technical Expertise
■ Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
■ Experience with wire frame software (eg, Axure, OmniGraffle, etc.)
■ Comfort with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word)
■ Basic knowledge of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets
