Digital User Experience Specialist

One of our clients located in Williamsburg, VA is looking to bring on an outstanding Digital User Experience Specialist to be responsible for their UX strategy, information architecture, design, implementation, testing, and optimization for web and mobile applications as well as other interactive experiences. The ideal candidate must have a passion for usability and design as well as the ability to reduce complex experiences into simple, clean design that drives engagement and high-value user behavior.

The Digital User Experience Specialist must be able to think beyond project requirements and possess a critical mind to draw results from user research and workflow analysis. The right person must possess strong marketing skills to review content, assess goals, and develop a user-centric information architecture to support their company goals. This incumbent must also possess a solid understanding of graphic design and web technologies.

This UX specialist will manage a team including a web architect and digital designer while reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications.

Responsibilities
• Communicate clearly and work collaboratively within marketing division as well as with other divisions of the company.
• Understand business requirements, interpret creative briefs, specifications, content outlines, and work with team to translate into wireframes and appropriate documentation.
• Develop a strategic technology road map, constantly providing a vision for the future and possible enhancements, including but not limited to websites, mobile apps, etc.
• Utilize proprietary research to create compelling online experiences that generate business results.
• Assess existing site for usability, design, content and branding and make recommendations accordingly.
• Oversee our content management software, Sitecore, and work with IT to manage implementation, enhancement, and usage.
• Coordinate and communicate with creative, technical, strategic and project management teams.
• Lead user research and usability testing when needed or appropriate.
• Keep current on interactive design and UX best practices and processes.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in user experience design, or related experience.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in agency or corporate setting
• Present a portfolio of work demonstrating ability to create usable products and documentation (wireframes, sitemaps, and flowcharts).
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, etc.)
• Experience and understanding of HTML/CSS/Javascript standards.
• Two years of experience working with CMS.
• Possess a broad understanding of interface design for multiple platforms: websites, mobile apps, etc.
• Self-directed, proactive, responsible, and able to meet deadline and budget requirements.
• Excellent communicative, collaborative and interpersonal skills.
