Our agency client is seeking a Digital Media Planner to join their team.
Objectives of the Role:
The Media Planner is responsible for all tasks and client service activities associated with an assigned account. The Media Planner acts as a steward of the entire communications planning process by providing media planning recommendations, executing plan changes/maintenance of media plans, maintaining successful client relationships, and developing and applying a working knowledge of basic media concepts, terminology, media math, and media plan execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Manage day-to-day plan changes/maintenance of media plans
-Work directly with the Communications Planning Assistant in creating, updating, and presenting media plans
-Present plans both internally and externally
-Develop strategically solid media recommendations with supporting rationale
-Assist in the analysis of research to develop the objectives, strategies, and tactics
-Respond to competitive requests
-Responsible for developing a working knowledge of media relevant to the client’s business including TV, print, digital, search, spot TV, and radio
-Research and compile competitive data
-Assemble and evaluate marketing data to determine the client’s advertising and media needs
-Evaluate and propose targeting, geography, scheduling, support level, and budget
-Analyze media alternatives to recommend how to best allocate the advertising budget
-Work with buying teams, traffic, billings, SFS, and outside agency partners
-Manage buy stewardship, including post buys and buy allocations
-Review industry trades for new sites, innovative and creative ad units and technologies, and competitive information
-Responsible for billing process
-Write POVs
-Other responsibilities as assigned

-Excellent time management skills
-Advanced Excel skills; intermediate PowerPoint and Microsoft Word skills
-Use of appropriate GSIP and 3rd party tools to research and develop plan recommendations
-Proactive approach to collecting information on brands, products, marketplace and trends; takes time to learn the processes and procedures to ensure set tasks are accomplished within given timeframes
-Consults others for ideas, advice and direction when unsure of the desired outcome(s)
-Gives input when developing new ideas to be used where relevant by the wider team
Qualifications and Experience
-Bachelor’s degree preferred
-1+ years related experience or prior internship experience in Advertising, Marketing or Communications Planning a plus
