Digital Marketing Strategist/Digital Communications
This is a Sr. Level temp to hire position with Financial Firm.
As a key member of the Digital Communications team within Corporate Communications, reporting to
the Director of Digital Communications, the Digital Strategy / Producer will be responsible for managing
financial firm's external online presence, identifying strategic digital opportunities to improve that presence,
and work to execute upon those priorities. This is a change agent role and one that is pivotal in the
evolution of firms digital brand. This role furthers firms enterprise and corporate goals and is
highly visible as a result. The role entails high levels of interaction and collaboration with IT as well as
marketing partners in the lines of business.
The role is responsible for creating and facilitating new content for client external digital channels.
This person will work closely with the Corporate Communications Content and Social Specialist in
developing new content for client.com, client branded microsites, social media channels,
landing pages and experiences for mobile, tablet and apps. This person will use digital tools and
technologies to implement these solutions into the various digital platforms for publishing. Partnering
with IT and developing strong relationships with technical colleagues is key to this role’s success.
This role will also assist marketing and business partners’ application of the client Digital Style
Guideline and work to consistently communicate the Guardian brand and identity online.
Lastly this role will be a center of excellence partner in regards to digital best practices, such as web
analytics, SEO, and digital marketing strategies.
Manage client corporate digital properties to ensure appropriate brand and digital style is
applied consistently throughout the enterprise and lines of business.
Regularly communicate Corporate Communications and business requirements with IT partners
and provide leadership on project work status, priority setting.
Collaborate and provide day-to-day leadership with internal and external teams and stakeholders
such as: IT, compliance, and digital agency team members across all digital initiatives.
Provide hands on web content management in Drupal CMS.
Collaborate with designers to incorporate effective visual design and imagery.
Optimize placement of digital content and materials including guides, videos, and banners.
Write, edit, upload and manage written/image/video promotional content for the web.
Work with marketing and business partners to gather requirements, KPIs, create basic wireframes
as needed and perform testing.
Facilitate and lead cross-functional project team meetings.
Be a center of excellence for SEO best practices. Bring SEO subject matter expertise to the table
in recommending solutions.
Drive the adoption of new digital capabilities and process efficiencies.
Experience integrating web analytics tracking tags into websites. Experience distilling web
analytics data from web analytics tool and insights from the data.
Provide and facilitate web analytics reporting for corporate and lines of business to measure
success of web initiatives.
Make recommendations on content and functionality enhancements, based on research, site
assessments and web analytics.
Responsible for domain management – ensure for domain name brand consistency, work with
legal, compliance, IT to secure and approve new domains. Wind down domains that are no
Maintain quality control and close oversight at all stages of website production to ensure final
product meets all defined standards.
Proofread all web content before it’s launched live.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years digital marketing experience, and a strong
grasp of the affiliated digital technologies.
Experience designing, developing, maintaining or managing complex or enterprise digital
Demonstrated experience creating and delivering digital/marketing solutions.
Demonstrated experience in absorbing complex digital information and communicating
effectively at all levels in both technical and non-technical audiences.
Able to identify, address or escalate potential dependencies, risks, and issues. Solutions first
Have solid understanding and experience with the full digital web development lifecycle.
Must have hands on experience with Drupal Content Management System from a content
publishing, template development, workflow and task management perspective.
Must have experience with web analytics reporting tools (WebTrends, Google Analytics, etc.)
and experience interpreting reporting and developing reporting dashboards.
Must be comfortable developing and using project plans using MS Project and/or Excel.

Must have experience with developing, QAing, implementing sites for mobile, tablet etc.
Knowledge of Web API and implementation.
Hands on experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite 4 (or higher) (in particular:
Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).
Experience with digital asset management. Must have experience with publishing, optimizing
video assets to the web. Familiar with various media players, YouTube, video file formats, video
hosting, implementing, troubleshooting, and tracking of video metrics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio)
Must be detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and project management skills
Strong presentation, communication and online copywriting skills
Strong problem solving skills, responsive and flexible to evolving responsibilities and changing
Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Marketing, Digital Technologies, UX/UI related degrees.
Project management methodologies and certifications are a plus.
This position will be located in our New York City, NY office.
