Digital Marketing Strategist & Social Media Content Creation

Our Theme Park company located in Thousand Oaks is looking for a Full-Time, ON-site Digital Marketing Strategist with social media & content creation management and implementation experience. You must be able to write in multiple voices for a variety of companies while updating it on all platforms. This includes: blogs, website (which is currently being redesigned), social media, and even email campaigns.

Job Description as follows:

Our ideal communications strategist will plan and execute everything related to the online presence and

promotion of our seven attraction brands in four U.S. tourist markets, as well as our self-storage facility

in Thousand Oaks, Calif., plus be ready to add new brands and locations. Reporting to the Director of

Corporate Communications in a small but highly-productive corporate office in Thousand Oaks, Calif.,

this full-time, in-house marketer will be both creatively and analytically-minded and have the ability and

desire to roll up his/her sleeves and get the job done on all fronts. We value honesty, integrity,

commitment, the ability to present and test new ideas and handle through to implementation, and a

desire to contribute to the team.

Essential Job Functions

 Manage and update content on all company national and regional websites, as well as all paid

and unpaid presence across all digital channels (including Google, regional chamber and

tourist/hotel/travel sites, review sites, blogs, media sites, reseller sites, etc).

 Develop and implement SEO/SEM and social media strategies, campaigns, and analytics across

all digital platforms. Includes set up of web analytics and insights reporting, pulling and

analyzing reports, and recommending courses of action to move forward based on the data.

 Write, post, and respond to content on social channels (including review sites) in a timely

manner with appropriate voice and messaging for purposes of brand development, reputation

management, and/or audience engagement. Includes blogs, Tweets, other social media posts,

press releases, etc.

 Ensure optimal Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practices are integrated within all content

across all digital platforms.

 Run effective PPC campaigns for attractions and self-storage with proven results and provide

strategic guidance, ongoing testing and analysis, and landing page development/optimization.

 Be the thought leader and expert voice on the ever-changing social media landscape.


 B.A. or B.S. in marketing or related field

 5 to 7 years of agency and/or corporate experience in developing, implementing, and analyzing

online and social strategic plans and campaigns with proven record of success.

 Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write in a range of voices and styles.

 Strong understanding of content writing strategies for websites and social media channels.

 Experience in writing for Search Engine Marketing (SEM)/Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

 Experience in strategic development, implementation and analysis of Google Adwords,

Bing/Yahoo Paid campaigns and all things Google (i.e. maps).

 Excellent attention to detail and responsive to feedback.

Technical Skills

Including but not limited to:

 Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and Word

 Google AdWords and Bing/Yahoo PPC dashboards

 Social media and blog set-up and posting

 Social media planning, advertising & analytics tools

 Google Analytics/Webmaster tools

 SEO evaluation/analysis tools

 Amenable to learning and using our Records Management, Task Management and Project

Management tools/systems.

Job Responsibilities

Online strategies and activities should focus on:

1. Tourists in our individual markets

2. Potential travelers to our individual markets

3. Online brand development

Our Digital Strategist will be responsible for managing and controlling our brand messaging across all

digital channels using a strategic and integrated approach, including but not limited to:

 Keep all websites up-to- date (includes all content, accounting for brand changes and additions,

and details such as updated hours, prices, new coupons, etc.)

 Continually review and optimize our presence on search engines (i.e. Google Local Pack, etc.)

 Stay up-to- date on press releases to post on HWM website for all locations and Kuvera website

 Seek out content about our brands on key websites and make sure they are up-to- date.

Additionally, look for other opportunities to place content/links on websites to drive traffic to

our websites and keep our SEO organic rankings strong

 Proactively seek opportunities to impact online presence of our brands (blogger campaigns, etc.)

 Handle PPC, Display Network, and Social Media ad campaigns with focus on ROI

 Solicit positive online reviews in every way possible (Yelp!, Trip Advisor, Google+, Yahoo, etc.)

and track the status/progress of our brands in these arenas
