Market Research Specialist:
Under the direction of and reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Market Research Specialist is responsible for leading the execution of market research to drive customer insight/understanding, market innovation/discovery, and overall go-to-market strategy. Develop understanding of the marketplace, know the customer (the buyer’s journey, buying cycle, persona, decision making units, needs, etc. for the specific niches/markets), know the competition, understand current market trends and spending, historical sales trends, etc.

A key characteristic of this position will be intellectual curiosity, determination and innovation to drive the discovery or ideation of where our business can expand, penetrate and fill a need or void in the marketplace, including our partners or alliances. The Market Research Specialist will need to have an innate ability to identify influencers, advocates in each market via various vehicles, i.e. social, networking, conferences, etc. and gain visibility and understanding of the company's brand’s value in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:
Cultivate a strong working knowledge of all market segments and their related challenges and opportunities.

Deep-dive into the assigned markets to fully understand and anticipate the future of the market, needs, market segmentation, trends and how they apply to the organization.
Develop an understanding of existing solution/product value and brand value in the marketplace with the customer and benchmark against that.

Focus on the appropriate/assigned markets and the customers/end users associated to discover new niches, innovation and ideation. Actively seek out opportunity for firm to fill a need or void in the marketplace.

Mine appropriate data sources to gain quantitative insights.

Develop and communicate information to internal constituents that enable actionable consultation and informed decision-making.

Develop draft presentations to promote understanding of segment structure, strategy, and key initiatives for meetings of: functional business units, executive committees.
