Digital Marketing Specialist

The Digital Marketing Specialist will join the Host and Community Operations team working with the Acquisition Manager and will focus on targeted paid acquisition at a global level through digital channels (social media channels, search engines and display networks). He or she will strive to approach host growth i.e. supply generation in innovative and surprising ways through rigorous technical discipline; daring hypotheses; roll-up-your-sleeves execution excellence; and a dyed-in-the-wool love of hospitality and traveling.

Job Description:

You will employ a growth hacking mindset to uncover the most scalable and efficient ways to growth the host base globally. You will manage a significant budget as well as vendors and agencies. Ideally you have experience in working with complex problems, innovate and experiment to learn quickly and ability to scale acquisition programs when proven efficient.

You will have strong domain knowledge of advertising platforms and online channels; understand how to work cross-functionally with operations managers, product managers, data scientists, engineers, financial planners and business stakeholders; and know how to develop and execute winning programs. You will work closely with the other functions and be expected to set up tests and launch targeted campaigns on a global scale. To be successful you will have to be analytical and data-driven but balance that with our focus on user experience.

Responsibilities:

Support strategy development of online tests for paid host acquisition with Acquisition Manager
Assist in onboarding agency partners and in executing media plans via Facebook, and other paid media social vehicles
Manage budget towards predetermined goals and targets
End-to-end ownership of program planning, execution and optimization for host acquisition efforts (particularly rental by owners) across social channels. including tracking, execution and reporting
Manage/QA campaign trafficking and internal tracking to accurately capture media performance
Build out reporting, opportunity sizing, and marketplace liquidity insights.
Foster cross-functional collaboration by working effectively with the local and regional HCO teams, Finance, Performance Marketing, Product, Design, Data Science and Corporate Communications
Stay abreast of new media industry trends and emerging digital channels, identify and manage innovation opportunities and bring fresh, creative thinking to ensure we are leveraging growth tactics in the most surprising and provocative ways
Skills:
Required Skills:

4-6 years experience in tactical online and performance marketing
Deep working knowledge in social, digital, and programmatic media, (specifically Facebook and other social channels)
Analytical and data savvy marketer. Strong knowledge of Excel, Facebook PowerEditor, DoubleClick Manager, Google AdWord, Google Analytics are a must, knowledge of SQL preferred. (product / engineering background is a huge plus)
Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communicator and a confident presenter and comfortable putting together reporting and presentations
Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities, and balance short term needs with long term strategic initiatives
Must be able to work across functions with a track record of building excellent relationships with a broad range of peers and executives
Experience working in global teams and collaborating across multiple geographies is a plus
Passion for all things travel. Experience hosting on the site is a huge plus
Proficiency in any of the following a plus: Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, or German
