Digital Marketing Manager

This is an exciting new role at a time of digital transformation. The main focus of the role is to ensure the new digital strategy is implemented, optimised and maintained effectively so that it delivers measurable return on investment keeping the business at the forefront of developments in digital marketing. You will be responsible for the development and management of a small and newly formed in-house digital team and will ensure the effective management of third party agencies and suppliers.

As Digital Manager, you will lead on developing, implementing and maintaining digital presence as an authoritative, high quality and user accessible source of information. You will put in place and manage digital governance across content, structure, design branding and development.

Through effective research or customer, market conditions and competitor data and with responsibility for planning and budgetary control of all digital marketing, you will also develop, execute and manage digital marketing campaigns utilising a range of techniques including paid search, SEO and PPC.

You will have excellent leadership, change management and interpersonal communication skills with the ability influence internal stakeholders at a senior level. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the business and have the strength and tenacity to challenge the status quo whilst ensuring cross-organisation buy-in for all digital developments.

Main responsibilities
• To lead on developing and maintaining the website as an authoritative, high quality, user accessible source of information with responsibility for managing the content, structure, design branding and development of the website. You will ensure cross-organisation buy-in for all new web developments and will provide expert advice across the organisation to help all staff understand how they can maximise the website as a resource in their individual areas of work.
• To manage the delivery of engaging online content to improve online communication with key audiences. You will be responsible for developing the governance, processes and procedures for content development and sign off across the organisation following the deployment of the content management system. You will ensure editorial protocols and sign off procedures are followed so that information is appropriately authorised and will ensure that the EEF website follows brand guidelines and adheres to guidelines and legislation for accessibility.
• To manage the content leader in co-ordinating the work of content creators and subject matter experts
• Contribute to and oversee the development and implementation of the social media strategy and oversee the management of any online communities including forums, ensuring data and privacy protection and responding sensitively as required to customer and member queries
• Manage the digital services executive ensuring the website is up to date and to develop and run content management system training for staff.
• Increase the interactivity of the website by researching and implementing new features required by our target audience
• Manage email newsletter communications and provide e-communications advice to staff to ensure the most appropriate channels and technologies are used for effective communications.
• Planning and budgetary control of all digital marketing including developing ways to promote the website – via search engine listings, developing appropriate collaborative website links and developing new ways of reaching a wider audience. You will devise strategies to drive on-line traffic to the website(s), tracking conversion rates and making improvements
• Work with the marketing managers and appointed agencies where appropriate to develop and manage digital marketing campaigns utilising a range of techniques including paid search, SEO and PPC.
• Contribute to and oversee the development and implementation of the social media strategy
• Make recommendations on further website development based on web analytics to improve usability, design, content and conversion.
• Keep up to date with new developments within the industry, review new technologies, exploit new web tools and approaches to keep the business at the forefront of developments in digital marketing.
• Ensure regular analysis and reporting of digital channel performance
• Manage external website supplier contracts to ensure maximum effectiveness and value for money and to maintain an archive of information relating to the website and supplier contracts
• To manage and engage with any appointed agencies working on the development of the any/all parts of the digital estate
• To support the management and implementation of future phases of the web build project successfully to meet the needs of all users.
