JOB DETAILS:

Our client represents some of the top and largest online news, commentary, and political website publishers. The Marketing Director will be responsible for the overall strategy, developing, establishing and maintaining of marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. They will also determine the demand for products and services offered by the organization and identify potential clients using sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products and services; analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends. They will conduct and evaluate product and service research, market conditions, competitor data, and implement marketing plans changes as needed- thus effectively managing the marketing, advertising, and promotional activities of corporate marketing. The Marketing Director will also build and develop a marketing team which is competent, commercially astute, dedicated and efficient. This is a full-time position working out of their Reston Town Center headquarters.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum 4 year college degree in Marketing or related field
- Minimum 6 years marketing experience at a small to mid- size professional marketing firm
- At least 3 years of experience at director level or 6 years of experience as a marketing manager
- Experience in the digital/online media industry strongly preferred
- Knowledge of traditional marketing principles, practices, tactics, and tools
- Customer or vendor relations management experience.
- Email experience, including list management & deployment
- Experience developing and managing CRM and prospecting life-cycles
- Experience with CRM and other marketing development software
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
- A drive to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth environment
- A self-starter with hands-on approach
- Proven track record in social media, direct mail, eMarketing, and event planning
- Strong market research and data management skills
- Highly effective and tactful communication skills, written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage competing priorities effectively
- Works well under pressure in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment
- Deadline and results-driven with an eye on details and efficient problem resolution skills
