Digital Financial Writer/Editor

We are looking for a skilled and organized Copywriter and Editor with strong Digital experience to join a growing team in NYC for a top fortune 500 client. This is a on site freelance opportunity in NYC for about 35-40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Duration of this project is ongoing. In this role, we are looking for someone with digital content experience, who can take longer form content and adapt it for digital consumption, including creating engaging headlines, teasers and summaries.


This writer/editor will work closely with various team members including Creative/Design/Art Directors and Copy Writers to compose engaging online experiences, digital advertising, social content and internal promotional/sales material. They will articulate and defend creative decisions, take feedback and push beyond expectations. In addition they will research, demonstrate and report on new tools, trends and techniques that can help expand the capability, creativity and expertise of you and the Social Studio team. This Writer/Editor will need to be capable of exploring opportunities and ideas to bring digital into the physical world as well as create and uphold the highest standards of quality, efficiency and organization with regard to creative execution, production and file/asset management.

• BA/BS degree required (Journalism/English/Creative writing a plus). Masters degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience in a financial or corporate content organization; digital writing experience required
• Proven writing ability; samples of work required
• Adept at creating engagement and emotional connection while conveying information in a direct, clear and easy-to-understand manner.
• Able to work in fast-paced environment, multi-task, problem-solve and reprioritize as needed.
• Highly organized with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience presenting concepts and participating in creative discussions
• Diplomacy to hear all sides while self-confident to make recommendations on how a message can be conveyed most effectively for intended audience
• Experienced with different media for distribution of content, print, digital, infographics, interactive and video
• Able to work as part of a team and as a creative partner with art directors, and digital content delivery teams

• Writing and editing exclusive content for digital platforms in the sophisticated yet clear, straightforward manner consistent with the voice and style guide
• Editing and adapting existing short-and long-form content developed by business and product partners
• Developing new digital content to support marketing strategies and campaigns including email, websites and social media.
• Creating multimedia messages by combining video, copy, photography and infographics to tell a complete story.
• Supporting ongoing content workflows, routing and posting for integrated campaigns across all client and prospect channels
• Ensure that all assigned content and campaigns launch on schedule.
• Lend editorial insights to develop best practices for content creation, quality control and competitive advantage
• Familiarity with content management systems.
• Knowledge of social media tools and analytics
