Calling all Star Wars fans! Top Media & Entertainment client is seeking a Digital Editor for a 1 year contract with full benefits! The contract has possibility to extend or go full-time.

The Post-Production Editor is an experienced and knowledgeable non-linear editor, who creates programming for StarWars.com and the Star Wars YouTube channel. In particular, they support the weekly occurring Star Wars Show by demonstrating mastery in the craft of editing as well as performing supporting functions from start to finish of production.

CLIENT MUST HAVES:
Looking for candidates who have worked for main stream pop culture companies that pump out a ton of content for the internet or TV. Looking for someone who can work on a quick paced internet show that edits pop-culture news, man on the street interviews, skits, and other fast paced segments.

NOT INTERESTED IN:
Video editing/producing for college sports, wedding, corporate videos or short films.

Responsibilities:
Work with non-linear systems to edit interviews, news, field packages, and skits
• Assemble complex timelines of video segments, graphics, transitions, bumpers, graphics, audio files, music, and sound effects.
• Ingest footage, build out graphics, mix audio, color correct, archive, and export final media
• Has a keen eye and ear for selecting best takes, sound bytes, and relevant music
• Work with the social team to create teases and pre-rolls for various social media platforms
• Utilize technical troubleshooting skills to evaluate, develop, and respond to workflow issues
• Contributes and executes ideas to the creative direction of Producers
• Researches, recommends, and teaches new technologies and workflow concepts
• Establishes and meets critical deadlines under changing conditions
• Conducts the highest level of quality control measuring and takes corrective action to enhance
Basic Qualifications • Minimum of 5-7 years editing experience acquired at a major network or online facility
• Extensive video editing experience with non-linear systems such as Premiere Pro/Avid/FCP
• Strong technical knowledge of computing and editing systems
• Strong sense of layout, pacing, and timing
• Advanced understanding of editing file structures and A/V formats
• Ability to work nights and some weekends
• Excels in a team environment, actively builds & maintains positive relationships through strong collaboration efforts
Preferred Qualifications • Proficient utilizing the entire Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop and Illustrator
• In-depth knowledge of Star Wars and pop culture
• Demonstrates high creativity with graphics creation, color correction, and audio mixing
• Eager to pick up a HDSLR camera, light, boom pole, operate a teleprompter, or provide any type of additional production support as needed
