Digital Designer

You are a Digital Designer that excels at providing analytically-driven creative ideas to solve design problems. You should have extensive experience working in a fast paced and innovative tech environment, using data insights to iterate and learn quickly as to what’s working in the creative and why. Headspace has a distinctive brand personality. We will expect you to develop a passion for the brand, following the brand guidelines with a close attention to detail. Working with senior designers, you will take these brand guidelines and develop an understanding of how they can adapt, learning how to maximize the effectiveness of your work for the business needs of marketing to both acquire and engage users.

Responsibilities:

Create high-quality, compelling marketing materials in a variety of digital media
Work with Acquisition team to create and iterate on projects, including but not limited to, banner ads, landing pages and a whole suite of digital assets to support acquisition focused initiatives to grow the Headspace community
Optimize email & mobile strategies to increase customer engagement, conversion & retention
Design concepts for user and A/B tests, especially funnel optimization (mobile & web)
Work with the Head of Design to ensure visual and brand consistency
Stay current on design trends, software development and best practices
Generate creative, visual and functional solutions that achieve Headspace’s strategic marketing goals in a constantly changing competitive landscape

Requirements:

Outstanding online portfolio demonstrating understanding of design fundamentals (typography, color, layout) and success in creating engaging marketing collateral
2-4 years relevant experience.
Proficiency with modular, grid-based design and retina optimization
Excellent communication skills and ability to work efficiently with the team under tight deadlines.
Understanding of marketing language of e-commerce design: hierarchy, call to action, conversion, etc.
Background in multi-platform marketing campaigns including desktop & mobile
Deep knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
Understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript capabilities a plus
An ability to come up with solutions to all sizes of problems within constraints (e.g. limited engineering capacity, fast turnaround, small real estate etc)
A strong understanding of brand, and what it takes to reproduce that across projects as it grows and expands.
