Transmodern Media is looking for a senior designer to help resdesign a Catholic website called aleteia.org. This is an offsite position.

Project Scope
We are looking for a web designer to 10 web pages, delivered in a responsive (web, tablet and mobile) Bootstrap/Less format. Our IT staff will integrate the pages into our CMS.
We have mock-ups for 6 of the most important pages, showing layout, navigation, rough type treatment, and sample content. Some of the sections will require some rethinking. Only one will require a complete re-thinking. The remaining 4 minor pages will be ready by August 1st.
We have created the mock-ups to save time and expense—a discovery process will not be necessary. However, we don’t want to restrict your thinking. While we would like your creativity to be focused on great typography, color and UX execution, we’re also open to alternative layout concepts, and any other ideas you can bring to the project.
We have two limitations. First, we are on a tight deadline. Second, we are limited to our current site’s functionality. These pages will be integrated into our current CMS, built on the Google App Engine. It will soon be replaced by WordPress, which will open up more possibilities for a second redesign phase, which will begin in October.
Site Description:
Aleteia.org is a global Catholic website, launched in 2012, with six language editions: English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic, and soon, a German edition. It can be described as a mix of the Huffington Post, Upworthy and About.com, for Catholics and seekers (these are editorial models, not design models). Each day, each language edition publishes 15 to 20 items: original and curated news articles and video, and columns (and soon, blogs). We also periodically publish Q&A pages (now called “Big Issues”) devoted to keyword search-driven topics. There is also a roster of “Experts,” and a “Newswire” section for content issued by Catholic non-profit and media partners. The site averages 2 million unique visitors per month, and is growing steadily.

Project start: ASAP
Deadline: Mid-September
Mockups: Can be viewed at aleteia.concept.vu (we will send invite email). Content: Photoshop files of the mock-ups, with sample content, will be provided.

Model websites that inspired the mock-ups:
