Digital Designer

We are recruiting for a Digital Designer to work within the Central London head office of a high-street fashion retailer. As one of 3 designers in a busy, dynamic creative department; your role will focus towards the digital side of the business, both within the UK and internationally. The creative team are responsible for end-to-end design development of major campaigns, producing and evolving brand communication for the client.
The ideal candidate will be extremely enthusiastic, dedicated with the ability to self-manage and to take initiative to analyse a situation and prioritise effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Executing web and email briefs ensuring the solution is delivered with integrity to the highest quality.
Conceptualising new creative commercial ideas.
Considering photographic requirements for web and emails and either executing them yourself or briefing a stylist to produced still images.
Taking ownership and accountability during the project delivery, acting as the designer & project manager ensuring a well managed daily communication to clients and line manager.
Building a professional working partnership with clients and implementing a working process that is mutually beneficial.
Working closely with the Catalogue Designer, Retail Designer to ensure a consistency of communication through all channels (Online & Retail).
Ensuring all the information required to efficiently and effectively create commercially valuable solutions is gleaned before the design stage starts.
Directing and working closely with a Creative Artworker to ensure final artwork is produced accurately to deadline. Thoroughly checking all work prior to hand over to Head of Brand Creative.
Ensuring all final artwork follows the correct sign-off process.
Working to actively improve existing frameworks to ensure a rapid delivery of projects and flex- ability to react to last minute requests and changes
Contributing to the collaborative brain storming campaign meetings, bringing new ideas to move the brand forward.
Keeping informed of competitor marketing activity through subscribing to competitor emails, browsing website and using WGSN as a resource. Building a comprehensive campaign based archive of competitors websites and emails.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Experience in the Adobe CS3 and above (running on Mac OSX) - including Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver & Fireworks.
The ability to build table-based emails and Gif animated banners.
The ability to handcode in HTML/CSS to W3C guidelines.
Experience of testing email content across different email clients/browsers.

Experience with the following would be beneficial, but not essential:
*JavaScript & JQuery code, Flash, Actionscript, HTML5, web design, UX and UI skills.
