Digital Design Director

Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic web design leader to join our marketing team. The right candidate applies left-brain talents to interaction design and analytics, and right-brain skills to visual design and team building. The customer experience you help create will grab the attention of our customers, educate them about the benefits of email and social media marketing, and inspire them to use our products to engage their audiences.

You will be a key member of our marketing team acting as a user experience designer, web platform owner, and brand steward. You will thrive in a highly collaborative environment where you will partner with demand generation, customer lifecycle, content and product marketing teams to bring our affordable and intuitive marketing tools to small businesses everywhere. This is a pivotal time in our evolution as our product portfolio expands to include logo design, domains, web site building & hosting, social media & search engine marketing.

Responsibilities

General
• Develop a clear view of customer personas and their needs, and assess competitors to inform your strategy to for standing out in the marketplace
• Coach and inspire a team of passionate and motivated in-house and freelance designers and partner with the Product UX Design team on look & feel
• Meet regularly with customers and internal teams (marketing, sales & customer success, technical support) to understand their needs/challenges
• Partner with the Brand & Advertising team to align the styleguide for our marketing services to help reposition the Deluxe brand
Design
• Lead creative strategy, art direction, and design execution for our corporate website, collateral, and events, support site, blog, ads and landing pages
• Develop a process to make the design team more effective and motivated including information architecture, wireframing & workflows, and visual design
• Act as Creative Director reviewing new projects, prioritizing them, and charting their course through the design process and team
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, and budgets and meet with internal clients often to clarify goals, explore concepts, and seek approvals
Web platform
• Maintain our web platform (Drupal and Wordpress) and collaborate on creative for advertising, email marketing, and social media campaigns
• Integrate with Moz tools, Google Analytics, Optimizely, Marketo, Salesforce to optimize SEO, ads, landing pages and emails for customer engagement
• Closely monitor key metrics for web and email performance and iterate on designs accordingly to optimize performance

Qualifications

• Track record building stunning web experiences that inspire and deliver on customer acquisition and engagement goals
• Knowledge and experience with responsive design for web and email marketing
• Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign and other design tools
• Proficient in HTML/CSS, Javascript, and ideally php for customizing and maintaining a Drupal-based website and Wordpress themes
• Bachelor’s degree (Arts or Sciences), Visual Arts or Design
• 8-10 years experience with hands-on experience in web design with team building and management of agency relationships and freelancers
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
