Digital Creative Director

One of Portland's fastest growing agencies is looking to add a Creative Director with a focus on social campaigns to their team. This is a full time opportunity, on-site in Portland, client willing to pay relocation for the right candidate.

Design, storytelling, blogging, photography, film, music – if it is artistic expression and inspires creativity you love it. In the Creative Director role, you will work closely with the internal team to assign digital vision and strategy for our clients. The Creative Director has an integral understanding of design principles, marketing fundamentals, technologies and cultural trends. You have a trained eye for strong design and while you come from a graphic design background, your interests are diverse. You have managed teams of designers and are skilled at giving feedback and guidance to motivate your teams. You are a strong communicator and have experience working with clients and internal teams, the Creative Director reports to the Chief Creative Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the creative team to understand client needs, target audience and creative brief objectives
  • Manage designers and provide feedback, sign-offs and creative direction on a day-to-day basis
  • Create original, persuasive, visually compelling design work for digital experiences
  • Craft and deliver strategic presentations and content
  • Concept ideas for campaigns and amplification tactics that span digital, social and mobile
  • Understand the overall business strategy of projects and consumer goals, work with the creative leads to ensure creative recommendations and strategy align with account objectives and maximize effectiveness
  • Lead creative presentations and meetings


  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 12 years experience as a designer, with at least 2 years in a management role
  • Ability to both lead certain projects independently of the CCO, and also work under their guidance on other projects
  • Must have a compelling portfolio and body of work with a focus on design for digital executions, with a focus on social campaigns
  • Demonstrated conceptual and strategic campaign experience
  • Strong understanding of UX best practices and experience creating wireframes
  • Proven history of leadership roles within a creative department
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal including experience presenting creative vision and recommendations to clients
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
