Talent reports to: Creative Manager

About the position:
As part of the in-house marketing team, the Digital Copywriter will develop concepts, write and edit marketing copy, proofread, and produce other creative content primarily for web use. This content will be intended to engage, attract, and sell for tactics including blogs, website content, PowerPoint, press releases, web banners, HTML emails, online advertising, and other miscellaneous web elements. Content will be for internal or external use that conforms to the preferred style and best business practices within all digital formats.

Specific Accountabilities/Essential Functions of Position:

Write engaging web-based articles that will make site visitors want to come back for your next written piece and share your work with others.
Write customer-centric copy based around search engine optimized key phrases using the appropriate voice.
Develop clear, concise, and brand compliant messaging for a variety of web-based materials that support key marketing initiatives and inspire action.
Understand how copy drives response rates and producing highly-responsive messaging with compelling calls-to-action.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand business objectives, message, and audience.
Condense large amounts of messaging and information into succinct consumer communications.
Work closely with colleagues in design and marketing, as well as external vendors, as needed.
Exercise quality control on all copy, obtaining approvals, fact-checking, and extremely thorough editing/proofreading.
Help to ensure all marketing communications maintain a high level of quality, feature a consistent tone and style, and support/reinforce our brand.
Develop and implement processes, standards, and guidelines for managing web content.
Stay on top of current industry trends to identify and implement strategies to increase readership and strengthen perception of product and brand. Keep up with best practices in writing for the web and knowing what people engage with socially.
Excellent interviewing, research and technical writing skills with an eye for detail and thorough knowledge of AP Style and grammar.
Strong understanding of the importance of branding and of fostering a voice for a product or service.
All other duties as assigned

· BA Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Advertising, or Marketing preferred or equivalent work experience.
· 5-7 years of proven writing experience with an online portfolio that demonstrates experience with business writing, blogging, strong conceptual abilities, creative thinking, and exceptional writing skills.
· Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Must show a solid command of concept development and copywriting in both the digital space and traditional media.
· Experience in writing for the Web, content management, and Internet research.
· Able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities.
· Proficiency with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), WordPress, and other blog formats.
· Experience working with content management systems (CMS).
· Experience in and/or familiarity with network marketing.
