Digital Communications Manager

Well renown advocacy organization is seeking a digital communications manager to play vital leadership role to help maximize the potential of digital branding and advocacy channels for the organization. By collaborating with stakeholders and managing external resources, including freelancers and digital agencies, the digital communications manager plans and implements content, features and functionality the organization's website and mobile properties and through the outbound email channel. This position combines best practices in user experience with analytics and experimentation to realize a digital presence that exceeds user expectations and achieves the organization's communications and advocacy goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the chief marketing officer and senior staff members to develop and execute an annual website and mobile plan that supports Brady’s strategic goals, delivers value to stakeholders and inspires key audience segments to action.

  • Evolves and optimizes the usability and visual design of Brady’s website and mobile properties based on best practices in user experience design and website analytics.

  • Project manages the creation of digital content, integration of new tools and launch of new functionality to support key policy, legal action and health and safety education initiatives.

  • Uses content management systems, including Wordpress and Drupal, to update graphics and copy on Brady websites, including planning and implementing calendar of homepage updates.

  • Project manages creative development, production and budgets with digital agencies, freelance writers/designers and video producers.

  • Works with technical resources to ensure digital platforms are reliable and secure.

  • Ensures website and mobile properties follow Brady’s technical/coding standards and best practices in search engine optimization.

  • Manages and collaborates with the Digital Communications Associate to integrate social media content and platforms into website and mobile properties.

  • Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of leadership in website, digital or interactive project management, ideally on political or advocacy websites and mobile platforms.

  • A digital enthusiast with unbridled passion and enthusiasm for technology and the ambition to create and innovate in the digital space.

  • Experience working with and managing digital creative agencies, interaction designers, visual designers and web developers.

  • Demonstrated ability to serve internal customers at the highest level of excellence across departments, stakeholders and a variety of subject matter experts.
