Digital Communications Consultant

Aquent's financial client is in search of a Communications Consultant that would be a part of the Digital Workplace team. As part of the Digital Workplace team, the Communications Consultant will consult with business partners in the development of new formal sites and migration of existing sites. The Consultant will guide business partners through site design and content strategy development/ migration and will be the primary point of contact for the business partner and migration team (including writers, developers, and graphic designers).

Responsibilities:
· The Communications Consultant will need to think strategically, working across functions/ departments to understand the needs of the business and their audience, leading the audit of existing content and creating a comprehensive plan for future content. This requires particular attention to web content, usability and interaction design functionality.
· Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, managing the project timelines and budgets.
· Execute strategies and programs to support the evolution of the Digital Commons and the company’s digital channel priorities.
· Implement and improve work processes, governance model and best practices for effective and engaging home office digital content. This includes forging credibility and strong partnerships across business functions and levels.

Requirements
· Experience working in cross-functional teams, interacting with graphic designers, usability specialists, writers, SharePoint developers and business partners.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a thorough knowledge of writing for the web, grammar, spelling, punctuation and usage. Prefer candidates with experience communicating complex topics to a broad audience in plain English.
· Experience in using web metrics to analyze usage patterns and recommend optimal content plan.
· Familiarity with web content strategy, design and development. Basic SharePoint 2013 experience a plus. Prefer candidates with experience working with a content management system.
· Demonstrated ability to negotiate, build constructive relationships and exercise tact, diplomacy and creativity in consulting with and providing service to clients at all levels.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or Advertising or other communications-related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
