Our Ad Agency Client is looking for a Digital Asset Manager!

The Digital Asset Manager is crucial to the current and future success of the agency. In a world of ever-growing data, it’s imperative for us to have an efficient and effective way to manage any assets we create, build, license, oversee, purchase or have dropped in our laps by clients and other friends

This person is responsible for: training employees to effectively use the DAM system; obtaining and overseeing the uploading of assets; creating, assigning, and maintaining metadata and taxonomy structure; organizing and granting access and permissions to users and user groups; basic editing an altering assets; being the keeper/manager of all assets, past and present, and in whatever form they take (images, artwork, audio, video, digital, etc.), that the agency is on the hook for. A working knowledge of our existing DAM, Portfolio Professional by Extensis, would be nice, but isn’t a prerequisite.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct the planning and execution of DAM implementation
  • Establish individual department requirements for digital asset management
  • Set technical and process direction of asset management
  • Conduct regular employee training on the system and workflow
  • Improve the efficiency and speed in locating digital assets
  • Track rights usage and licensing expiration in conjunction with Business Affairs
  • Mange agency storage and servers as it relates to agency assets
  • Client contact for anything related to the client’s proprietary DAM system or asset tool
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills required
  • Oversees contracts, releases and copyright/legal issues as related to visuals by using working knowledge of intellectual property laws
  • Acts as liaison between artist and agency by maintaining working relationships with all reps/agents
  • Build relationships with outside vendors to ensure a competitive creative and bidding market


  • SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
  • Experience with managing digital asset management systems, processes and search technologies
  • Experience with agency workflow and file delivery
  • Experience with creative programs such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Final Cut
  • Familiar with audio, video, vector, web and compression files
  • Experience using taxonomy to catalog visual assets
  • The ability to establish and enforce standards
  • Ability to evaluate quality and appropriateness of photography, illustration and footage
  • Experience in contracting appropriate vendors determined by needs/scope of project, timing, and budget
  • Energetic and solution oriented
  • Highly organized with good written and oral communication skills
  • Team player who wants to make the agency better
  • Highly motivated and works well under pressure
