Digital Asset Coordinator/Assistant Video Editor

Aquent has an immediate 9-month contract opportunity for a Digital Asset Coordinator/Assistant Video Editor for a large Fortune 500 company in Dallas. The ideal candidate will develop and implement processes to maintain a comprehensive digital asset management (DAM) program to capture, catalog, archive and provide access to all forms of digital assets. The candidate will also oversee and direct people and equipment involved with access to and storage of video footage and artwork. Monitors all user areas and anticipates data access management needs as they grow and leads efforts to meet those needs, avoiding duplication and optimizing storage and accessibility.

Digital Asset Management Specialist
Utilizes understanding of archiving technology and processes to evaluate the database capabilities, identify and maximize current databases capabilities and make recommendations regarding software and technology that will enhance the image storage and retrieval process. Archiving raw source files and Master video clips when Videos are completed. Develops and oversees process, procedures and coordination efforts in the AV Department requiring access to digital asset management and those responsible for intake, identification, storage, retrieval, distribution and/or archiving of all forms of digital assets from video files, graphic elements, and audio. Work with vendors to establish and maintain best practices in delivering files back to the client after video is completed. Facilitate/coordinate external file transfer methods such as FTP and Internal File Shares as new technology becomes available for use. This includes initial trouble shooting, working with IST to resolve issues, monitoring/managing content of share drives and the ftp site. This also includes coordinating with IST to setup and delete user accounts and access permission. Working with IST on an ongoing basis to develop more efficient methods of delivering files electronically to our international markets.

Assistant Video Editor
Assists and independently edits videos using Avid technology. Digitizes using multiple tape formats and digital file formats, choosing the best shots and editing to create an audience motivating piece; finishing with color correction, audio mixing and mastering to tape and file format. Creates, enhances and/or animates motion graphics for animation sequences such as logo and type treatments, video effects and graphic treatments to produce videos and multi-media projects of high quality in the most cost-efficient manner. Utilizes thorough knowledge of motion graphics for videos in production. Continuously evaluates and utilizes various approaches, technology and methods of production. Catalogues and files all tapes, electronic file sources and graphic elements of a job when project is completed. Actively researches new AV technologies and stays current on industry advancements, including computer hardware, software and related equipment. Serves as a technical and business resource to other producers, assisting in the resolution of complex problems.
