Digital Art Director

The Digital Art Director is a visual storyteller and creative problem solver who finds new and unexpected ways to drive customer engagement and generate buzz for the brand on social and web. They are active on almost all social media channels and has a keen eye on digital advertising trends and emerging technology. The Digital Art Director likes to build, draw or take pictures, geek out on tech and uses every tool in their creative arsenal, not just the computer, to create meaningful work to be proud of.

The Art Director/Copywriter team is responsible for concepting and executing against marketing strategies. The Digital Art Director is adept at creating innovative, compelling digital experiences that motivates and inspires the target to take a desired action. In addition to design, the director is expected to work with Developers to ensure effective web, mobile and tablet design and usability based on user requirements and industry best practices— participating in all phases of the design process, from concept development through production.

Responsibilities:
• Drive high level concepting, tactical program ideation and polished design for a wide range of marketing outputs from short-form video and interactive web experiences to display advertising, social content and experiential activations.
• Understand and Master our visual brand story across all social and digital channels, maintaining a consistent look, feel and vision.
• Develops creative concepts in collaboration with copywriters.
• Successfully communicate (present and sell-in) creative ideas, their rationale and the specifics of the solutions.
• Collaborate with team members from creative, strategy and analytics to produce smart, powerful work.

Desired Skills and Experience:
• At least 3+ years of experience in marketing, advertising or social media, with emphasis on digital/interactive media or a relevant combination of education and experience.
• Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Sketch.
• Strong communication design sensibilities and an understanding of how composition, information hierarchy, color theory and typography work together to drive home a message
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey ideas and information clearly, concisely and persuasively.
• Direct and promotional marketing, mass advertising and interactive experience.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to think strategically, conceptualize creatively and see the concept through to polished design and build.
• Excellent negotiating and problem-solving skills.
• Social fluency and a solid understanding of how to drive conversation and engagement across social channels.
• Firm understanding of User-Experience and User-Centered Design Principles.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SASS, and JavaScript web standards, experience coding in HTML5 and CSS3 is a plus.
• Proficiency in photography, videography (Premier Pro) and animation (After Effects and/or Animate) is a huge plus.
