Digital & Events Marketing Assistant - global tech brand

A large global tech brand based in Reading is looking for a Digital & Events Marketing Assistant to support and manage offline initiatives such as events and advertising.


Key Accountabilities:

• Assist with the implementation of the UK education team’s inbound marketing and community initiatives
• Work with UK Education Marketing Manager to ensure the community platforms
• Help to generate compelling editorial content and manage a schedule of blog material
• Assist with the management of communities located in social networking sites
• Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the growth of the community and analyse, review, and report on the effectiveness of new initiatives.
• Monitor trends in online community tools, trends and applications
• Assist the UK Education team with the management of all event activities
• Design skills – ability to create basic marketing materials such as white papers and eBooks

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

In particular, the role will require the ownership of certain elements of a large education technology trade show, therefore experience of trade show management and organisation would be required.


This role requires a background in B2B marketing, combined with practical technical competency in digital marketing. More specifically, the role requires a thorough understanding of inbound marketing utilising a range of digital techniques such as SEO, social media and content creation across a range of formats (blog, eBook and video).


• Strong personal usage of tools such as Twitter and LinkedIn
• Proven experience of developing and running successful digital marketing campaigns within a B2B context
• Proven experience of running digital marketing campaigns and reporting outcomes
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of online community platforms (Blogs, social networks etc.)
• Strong project management or organisational skills, particularly in relation to the delivery of large trade shows and events
• Editorial, Marketing and Customer Service experience
• Creative, diplomatic, cool under pressure and fantastic interpersonal skills
• University graduate
• IDM/CIM qualification (preferred but not a prerequisite)
