Designer/Developer (Fashion Retailer)

0 people like this description

With the Head Office based in LA and offices across Europe (France, Denmark, Sweden, Barcelona, Berlin and of course London), our Client, a Fashion / Retailer Start-up are seeking a Senior Designer with the added capability to Design and Build HTML Emails and Web Pages from scratch.

Following loose brand guidelines from the .com site, the chosen candidate will be tasked to work alongside another Designer / Developer to localise given material but also design pages / concepts completely from scratch.

The London office launched in 2012, and as always with a start-ups, you will also be tasked to create new layouts / functionality that can then be implemented / developed once approved.

So with lots of creativity involved and opportunity to bring your own ideas / thoughts on-board, what’s not to love!

Working with a bespoke CMS system, you will be working in a fast-paced environment across 2 ranges / websites with a third on it’s way this summer

As well as owning / looking after the UK websites, you will be working quite a lot on their HTML emails where 3-5 get sent out each week!

Technical Skills:

Aside from the usual knowledge of the Creative Suite, we are looking for someone with:

• Responsive Design Experience

• Extensive experience designing and coding HTML Emails and web pages from scratch.

• Heavy conceptual experience, as well being able to take on more of the digital artworking projects, where you will be localising content / copy to work to the London Market.

• Ideally from an E-commerce Background. Fashion is only a Bonus.

• Ability to work well with CMS systems.

Over time, as the team grows, there is potential to manage more junior designers, leaving you with the opportunity to take on more exciting projects!

Key Qualities:

• Someone who can come in, hit the ground running, work under management but without being micro-managed.

• Someone who is very meticulous with an eye for detail. Currently changes can only be viewed once live, so any broken links etc may prevent sales if pages have not been tested prior to launching.

• There will also be a 'Wish List' which is circulated around to the team, that's constantly being amended / updated for Designers to pick a task to work on, whilst prioritised work has been completed.

• So we are looking with someone who is passionate about 'their brand', who can use their initiative to independently take on further projects such as designing and testing new landing pages, new concepts, new ideas, that could then potentially be implemented, if approved by Head Office.

Team Environment:

• Office is quite small however they are growing and have a quite a relaxed team environment where staff are awarded Stars (!), Prosecco and Tasty Treats etc!

• Good work is always recognised. Social events are organised from time to time for the team to enjoy :)

• Culture fit is important. The team are very friendly, calm and work well collaboratively, so like minded additions are required!

• Most of the team have been working since the arrival of the London office (3 years) and together with Free Healthcare, 25 holidays + Bank holidays and not to mention the generous treats, what's not to like!
