Client: Digital agency in Brooklyn that brings together product design, brand communications and social content to help businesses thrive. They're currently growing our social media team, and are looking to round it out with a social designer to collaborate with our social, strategy, design and technology teams.

This Designer role requires a talented visual designer with an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for social content, to develop content across various social channels. Part visual designer, part social media junkie, you must love gifs, memes and the occasional hashtag conversation. The team operates a bit like a newsroom—engaging with pop-culture events as they unfold, developing communications and sending innovative content into the daily social media fray. The ideal Designer will be have an incredible eye, with a knack for deploying an off-kilter sense of humor in a way that aligns consistently with a client’s voice. You are positive, proactive and naturally at home in an organic, team-motivated environment.

Role + Responsibilities:
● Translate campaign initiatives into daily posts for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and various other social media platforms
● Participate in ideation of content for of marketing campaigns, leveraging understanding of social trends, channel XXX and something else
● Work directly with the copy team to create companion visual assets for posts
● Brainstorm with insight and empathy to help solve problems in awesome, hilarious, and compelling ways
● Live and breathe (micro)content and consumer-brand interaction
● Curate content by promoting videos/stories/memes that are about to become part of the conversation in a big way
● Maintain awareness of new social media marketing platforms and techniques, as well as look for opportunities to innovate and develop completely new techniques
● Have finger on the pulse of Client’s social presence, social trends and channel shifts
● Find time to keep up your own personal, weird, super-specific Tumblr, Pinterest page or respond to your gang of followers on YouTube or Twitter.

Skills + Experience:
● 3-5 years of design experience in a social media setting - brand-side, digital agency or PR
● Experience (personal or professional) in video creation/production required
● Degree in Design, Art, Marketing, or a related field
● Deep understanding of both major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc) as well as smaller and emerging platforms
● Strong conceptual thinker who can quickly take an emerging trend, shape it to work for a specific client and create an irresistible (or hilarious) piece of content
● A passion for digital culture and inventing solutions to tomorrow's challenges today
● Exceptional design and presentation abilities
● The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines
● Photography skills a big plus
