HOT retail agency looking for a designer to join it's growing team.

Responsible for delivering creative excellence in all phases of the design process. The Designer is an ambassador of the agency and interacts positively, confidently and effectively with clients. Must direct and mentor less experienced team members over multiple project categories through concepting, design, presentation and production file preparation.

A problem solver. A doer. Someone with some industry relevant experience, ideally within the Portland sportswear scene. Extensive management isn't necessarily a requirement, but strong leadership is.

Knowledge and interest in popular American sport culture is a bonus: College and pro football, baseball, soccer etc. You know, frequents ESPN.com. Again, this is a bonus and definitely not a requirement.


Requirements:

  • Minimum two years industry experience.
  • A primary design team contact for clients, responsible for cultivating client relationships, presentation of creative proposals and exceeding client expectations.
  • Establish budget estimates and workbacks for all projects within scope. Stay within those budgets and revise as necessary. Ensure all design teammates stay within hours.
  • Focus on solution-oriented creative excellence. Assist others in overcoming creative challenges in a positive and supportive manner that promotes team building and success.
  • Collaborate with others through clear and respectful communication and professional relationship skills that promote a healthy team-oriented work culture. Trusted relationship skills with both clients and team members alike are paramount.
  • Continue advanced mentoring of less experienced designers and gain experience directing Designers, Junior Designers, and freelance Designers.
  • Master design tools, processes and work-flow. Understanding of management and work-flow is key to future advancement.
  • Develop ability to oversee multi-category work and apply best practices across these client groups.
  • Create and execute work-flow processes, assign projects and ensure sufficient project staffing (e.g. PTO coverage, hiring etc.)
