Our client, a prestigious institution of higher ed - needs a strong Designer for Print and Web Projects. 70% Print, 30% Web/UX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, prepare, and coordinate production of an effective and cohesive family of print materials for the college and its offices, including but not limited to concert posters and playbills, major event programs and collateral, promotional pieces, newsletters, brochures, flyers, invitations and stationery, displays, signage, forms, maps, ads, conference banners, t-shirts, CD packaging, stickers, etc,
• Design templates and other quick, self-service options to meet various college needs. Identify appropriate needs and formats, including but not limited to postcards, invitations, flyers, event collateral, and presentations (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.).
• Collaborate with the design team to develop methods for streamlining regular tasks as much as possible and identify other timesaving approaches, in order to free up time for more sophisticated design projects.
• Anticipate photography needs (content, composition, colors, etc.), identify preferred photographers, delegate and art direct photographers prior to shoots, and select photos for college use. Prepare and manipulate photos for use in design as necessary.
• Keep an orderly library of current and past projects.

Knowledge and Skills Required
• Minimum of 2-5 years experience in a professional design capacity, working in both print and digital media.
• Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design or the equivalent.
• Mastery of QuarkXPress, InDesign, Photoshop, Freehand, and/or Illustrator, all in the
Apple operating system environment.
• Demonstrated awareness of recent trends in graphic design and digital print technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of typography.
• Demonstrated experience in graphic manipulation and retouching of photographs.
